Legend says that the great Buddhist guru Padmasambhava regarded Sikkim as one of the last utopias on earth. It is one of the smallest and prettiest states in India in the Northeast part of the country. Sikkim is considered a haven for all types of travelers, those seeking trekking adventures as well as spiritual experience. One can travel from ancient Buddhist monastery to a thousands years old Hindu temple or trek through magnificent mountain ranges featuring subtropical dense forests, alpine meadows, cascading waterfalls and local cute villages with its hospitable residents. Travelers embarking on the journey of Sikkim are automatically pulled to Darjeeling, a picturesque hill station situated in the state of West Bengal. The place is filled with Buddhist monasteries, trekking trails and amazing mountain views of the snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas. It is most famous of its tea industry and the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
